We believe every family who chooses TCS should be able to afford TCS.

Traditional tuition models often create an uncomfortable dynamic—families who pay full price and families who receive "financial aid." We've designed something different: a tuition model where every family contributes what they can, based on their unique circumstances.

How Our Tuition Model Works

When you apply to TCS, you will complete a tuition profile that takes into account your family's full financial picture—not just income, but also assets, debt, other children's educational costs, and family responsibilities. An independent third-party firm reviews this information and determines your family's personalized tuition rate.

The result? A tuition plan that's personalized for your family and sustainable for our school.

Your tuition will be available within 10 business days of submitting your profile. We revisit this annually during re-enrollment, so if your financial circumstances change, your tuition will adjust accordingly.

If you prefer not to share financial information, you may opt out of the tuition profile process and commit to our maximum tuition of $24,750. We respect every family's choice.

Why We Built This Model

When we founded TCS, we knew that a school committed to curiosity, courage, compassion, and agency needed to walk that talk in everything we do including how we approach tuition.

We wanted to build a learning community where:

  • Children learn alongside peers from all backgrounds, not just those whose families can afford private school tuition

  • Families feel welcomed as partners, not categorized by their ability to pay

  • Every student belongs fully, without the weight of wondering who got "aid" and who didn't

Research shows that children develop deeper empathy, stronger problem-solving skills, and broader worldviews when they learn in truly diverse communities. Our tuition model is one of the ways we make that possible.

  • Key factors include household income, assets (such as property ownership), debt (such as student loans), the number of children enrolled at TCS, and educational or childcare costs for other children in your household. The assessment looks at your family's complete financial picture.

  • The maximum tuition is $24,750 per child. Most families contribute 10% of their adjusted gross income. For families with multiple children, your second child’s tuition will amount to no more than 80% of your older child’s tuition.

  • We understand that life brings unexpected changes. If your family experiences a significant financial shift during the school year, please reach out to us. While tuition is typically set annually, we'll work with you to explore options.

  • Families with multiple children enrolled at TCS receive consideration in their tuition assessment. Your second child’s tuition will amount to no more than 80% of your older child’s tuition.

  • If you believe there are extenuating circumstances not captured in your tuition profile, please reach out to discuss your situation. While the independent assessment process is designed to be thorough and fair, we're committed to ensuring every family is heard.

  • No. Our tuition model is designed to ensure equitable contributions from families based on their financial circumstances. While annual giving is not expected or mandatory, we appreciate your consideration if your family is in a position to further support the school's growth. Any additional gifts help us enhance programming, expand resources, and build for our future as a PreK-8th grade school.
