Childhood
Our Discovery Class I through III are for children ages 5 to 12
The Discovery Class builds on the strong foundation established in our Early Childhood program, fostering curiosity, critical thinking, and problem-solving. With a learner-centered approach, students engage in hands-on, inquiry-driven experiences that encourage them to explore, question, and create. Our dual-grade classrooms provide opportunities for students to learn from and with peers of different ages, fostering collaboration, mentorship, and deeper social-emotional growth. Paired with our Innovation Lab and dynamic classroom environment, students experiment, collaborate, and bring their ideas to life, making learning both meaningful and engaging.
Discovery Class lessons prioritize the development of essential skills, including literacy, math, and critical thinking, while also fostering independence and self-reflection. Students create portfolios to document and reflect on their learning, working closely with Learning Coaches to track progress and set personal goals. This process helps students take ownership of their education, building confidence and agency in their learning journey.
Thematic learning is at the core of Discovery Class, allowing students to delve deeply into areas of interest through long-term exploration. By integrating subjects and guiding inquiry-based exploration, students make meaningful connections across disciplines and develop a holistic understanding of the world around them. Through this approach, the Discovery Class experience not only equips students with knowledge but also nurtures the curiosity, adaptability, and problem-solving mindset they need to thrive in an ever-changing world.

Leadership opportunities are abound in our Discovery Classes.
We prioritize cognitive development by fostering strong foundational academic skills and knowledge. At the same time, we emphasize social-emotional growth and character development.
Through hands-on activities and real-world experiences, we encourage critical thinking, problem-solving, and creativity. These early years are crucial for laying the groundwork for a child's academic and personal success. We foster positive traits like honesty, kindness, and responsibility.
Our Childhood Philosophy
To enrich our curriculum, we organize field trips, invite guest speakers, and collaborate with local organizations. Students also participate in classroom jobs, collaborative projects, conflict resolution training, cross-age mentoring, and student councils.
By combining a strong academic foundation with these enriching experiences, we create a dynamic learning environment that prepares our students for future success.
